Community libraries network: First meeting of the pilot group

On Tuesday 25 July, over 15 members of the existing community libraries network stepped forward as members of a pilot group, to work through ideas around re-invigorating the network.

Building on earlier work done by Locality and the Upper Norwood Library Hub, and informed by a recent survey of members, they agreed common areas of interest and identified some priority actions.

We will share more about these over the next couple of months, and plan to use this site to explore further what is needed, and share a flavour of the diverse range of community managed libraries in England. We aim to increase membership of this network – and will use this site to ask questions, gather feedback and keep people updated.

If you are either are a volunteer in, or a trustee of an existing community managed library, or are in a community group who is exploring taking over your library, please subscribe by adding your email in the column on the right hand side. If you are interested in getting more closely involved, there will be lots of opportunities, so feel free to contact us by email: communitylibs@unlt.org
