Network Meeting – February 2024
The next Community Libraries Network Meeting will be held online on Thursday 22nd February @ 10:30am.
This is an opportunity for you to present topics, learning or issues of interest or concern for members to share, discuss or learn from.

Develop a Succession Plan for your Community Managed Library
As part of our Top Tips information programme we are running an interactive workshop to explore how to develop a suitable Succession Plan to attract new members to your group or committee. The session will cover
- how to develop a succession plan
- how to attract new members to your organisation
- how to engage with younger members
- resources out there which could help
- examples of successful approaches and techniques which work
Develop a Fundraising Plan for your Community Managed Library
As part of our Top Tips information programme we are running an interactive workshop to help you to to develop a sustainable Fundraising Plan for your library. You might want to think about ongoing running costs, projects costs for specific events or activities, or more ambitious proposals around capital development. This session will cover
- key elements to think about when developing a Fundraising Plan
- overview of Trusts, Foundations and other funding routes
- why you should build long term relationships with funders
- localised approaches to income generation
- how to sell your story and celebrate your success
- who could help
Working Groups
Digital Inclusion Working Group
If you have experience of providing digital inclusion support within your library, we would love to hear from you.
The Digital Inclusion Working Group will come together to identify digital needs within our communities, and build resources for a Community Managed Libraries Digital Inclusion Toolkit.
The group will meet monthly online, so if you have an interest in providing the best digital support for our communities please get in touch with jane.swindall@communitylibrariesnetwork.org
Social Prescribing Working Group
If you have experience of providing social prescribing activities within your library, we would love to hear from you.
The Social Prescribing Working Group will come together to explore different ideas and resources, to build a recommended Social Prescribing Pathway for Community Managed Libraries.
The group will meet monthly online, so if you have experience of accepting referrals from your local NHS colleagues, please get in touch with jane.swindall@communitylibrariesnetwork.org
