Following the recent data protection changes brought about by GDPR, Chris Brown from Greenhill Community Library has provided some information which may be of use to Community Managed Libraries requiring training aimed at front line staff.
With the GDPR now in force, we at Sheffield felt it was important that all our front-line volunteers understood how to comply with it. However we found that the commercially available training was expensive and too broad in scope, requiring volunteers to watch perhaps two hours of content to distill the (relatively few) things that they really need to know.
So Greenhill and Totley libraries teamed up to produce some short training videos of our own. Comprising four scenario-based modules totaling just 15 minutes, the training is tightly focused on the needs of front-desk staff in community libraries. They have been well-received by our volunteers here at Greenhill.
The four modules are:
* Module 1: Introduction
* Module 2: Using Data Lawfully
* Module 3: Keeping Personal Data Secure
* Module 4: Data Subject’s Rights
There is a taster clip from module 3 here: https://youtu.be/kMCOTeK3DY0
We have decided to make these videos available to community-managed libraries in the UK for a modest fee of £50. That’s a one-off, per-library fee, independent of the number of volunteers you need to train.
If you would like to use them:
(1) Send a BACS payment to “Friends of Greenhill Library”
Sort code 05-08-68, Account 33308374
including “GDPR” and your library name in the payment reference
(2) Send an email to email@example.com
We will then send you the links. Apologies for this cumbersome approach but we are not set up to take payment in other ways.

I need to change our contact email address for Boldon and Cleadon Community Library.
The website doesn’t make it clear how to do that. Can someone advise me please.
